Danielson Group consultants have extensive backgrounds in education, along with a deep level of Framework understanding. Based on the latest research findings and professional learning activities, our consultants are constantly updating the information they share and the support they provide, allowing our clients to continually improve the fidelity of their Framework implementation. Their field knowledge of the Framework's use around the nation is beneficial to both new and returning clients. Danielson Group consultants guide workshop participants in learning the Framework's language; anchoring professional development around the Framework; promoting collaborative, accurate, and fair observation practices; and elevating teaching.

Melissa Linton , a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University, has been an educator for over 20 years, serving as a teacher, building level administrator, principal, and district administrator. She began using the Framework as an administrator in 2000 focusing on mentoring programs, teacher evaluation, observation and school improvement using data driven decision making processes. She teaches graduate level courses for teachers and consults on the use of the Framework for Teaching, teacher evaluation, observation inter-relater reliability and effective instructional practices.

MaryLou McGirr has served in education for 30 years and specializes in providing professional learning. Areas of expertise include teacher effectiveness, mentoring, group facilitation, working with high needs schools and districts and Customized Learning. She assisted at the state level developing and facilitating the initial pilot program for the state teacher effectiveness system incorporating the FfT. She is a Training Associate with the Center for Cognitive Coaching and Learning Special with Technology & Innovation in Education.

George McKenna is a graduate of Western Illinois University, Illinois State University, and Millikin University. His career has included teaching in traditional, alternative, and special education programs. Administratively, George has been a high school dean of students and currently serves as a high school principal in Illinois. He led his current district in the adoption and implementation of Danielson’s Framework for Teaching, designing the professional development for the teachers and administrators in grades K-12.

Peggy Olcott has over 25 years experience ranging from elementary and middle school teaching to district level coordination of curriculum and instructional programs. She helped develop and implement teaching standards based on the Framework for Teaching. Currently, Peggy presents various seminars including facilitating data-driven dialogue and learning-focused conversations. Peggy holds a B.A. from UC, Santa Barbara and M.Ed. from City University.

Joanie Peterson is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, whose 30 year career span includes classroom teacher, counselor, central office Human Resources and Professional Development administrator and Board of Trustee in the K-12 education system; faculty member, counselor and administrator at the community college and university level. Peterson specializes in recruitment and the hiring process, mentor and induction programs and teacher evaluation based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching since 2002. Peterson provides support in facilitating professional growth on teacher effectiveness, data-driven decision making processes, observation, calibration, and teacher evaluation design using the Framework for Teaching
