Observation Software

“Framework for PC,” produced by TimerData,is an observation and evaluation tool that enables users to take observation notes electronically, with an automatic time stamp, code those notes to the framework for teaching, and then sort all the notes according to the components.  Therefore, all the comments about, for example, the environment of respect and rapport, are clustered together, and can be looked at and interpreted against the rubric.  Then the results of several observations can be displayed together, permitting the observer to discern patterns over time or in different situations.

Online Professional Development

“The Framework for Teaching” is a program developed by Educational Impact.
The program is a series of modules, opening with a 60-90 minute overview of the Framework for Teaching featuring a presentation by Charlotte Danielson. The program will then give viewers an opportunity to watch real classrooms, from a range of grade levels and disciplines, illustrating the various components of the framework for teaching. During the classroom segments, the footage will periodically freeze and the viewer will hear Charlotte’s voice comment on how the teaching being observed relates to her teaching framework.
The last module will include a reflective activity/ self-assessment. Viewers will observe a classroom example and be asked to pause the video and determine which of the components were illustrated in the segment. Once completed, the user can view a short video of Charlotte explaining what should have been observed and how to calibrate and compare their observations to hers. All Charlotte’s presentation slides, and several worksheets, will be included in the “handout” section of the materials.
Information about the program is available at http://www.educationalimpact.com/index.shtml
The program will also include all of the normal components found in EI’s online programs and platform including:
