Consultants

Consultants for the Danielson Group have been selected and trained by Charlotte Danielson to offer customized training to practitioners in schools, school districts, universities, teacher associations, regional centers, and state departments of education. They are dispersed all over the United States, and are able to travel to locations within the US and overseas, as well as participate in telephone and online consultations.

Many of the Danielson Group consultants have expertise in specialized areas, which enriches their work with educators. These specialties are described in each individual’s biography.

The foundation of the work of members of the Danielson Group in their work with educators is the Framework for Teaching, as described by Charlotte Danielson in Enhancing Professional Practice: a framework for teaching (ASCD, 1996, 2007). In using the framework with practitioners, members of the Danielson Group strive towards helping schools and districts cultivate a culture of professional inquiry around rigorous learning by students, grounded in the active view of cognition described in the framework. Just as there is a culture for learning in the classroom, there must be a culture of professional inquiry among the professional educators in a school; through systematic examination of their own practice, through reflection on practice and professional conversations with colleagues, educators engage in systematic improvements in teaching and learning.
