Experience with The Framework for Teaching
Dr. Kate Dickson has served as a consultant assisting many schools and districts in Oregon to implement teacher and administrator professional development programs integrating the The Framework for Teaching. Kate has worked with joint management/union teams in designing and implementing school district teacher professional growth and evaluation systems. Kate also works with school and district level administrator and teacher professional learning teams in the ongoing implementation of The Framework for Teaching.
Kate has worked with the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators Association, Business Education Compact, Oregon Education Association, Oregon Small Schools Initiative, and the Chalkboard Project in sponsoring workshops supporting the use and implementation of The Teaching Framework. This work supports Oregon’s school and district professional development for teacher and administrator induction programs, teacher professional growth and evaluation programs, and university teacher and administrator preparation programs.

Kate is President of Leadership Matters, Inc. and serves as an educational consultant to urban, suburban, and rural schools, and school districts, university preparation programs, and public and private educational agencies in Oregon and Washington.
Prior professional experience includes: Oregon Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction, Assistant Executive Director of Confederation of Oregon School Administrators Association, assistant superintendent West Linn/Wilsonville School District, School Principal, Curriculum Resource Specialist, and Classroom Teacher in Salem/Keizer School District.
